Awards
This year has been one of the most meaningful and transformative years of my journey as an international student. During my Honours year, I have balanced academic excellence, research, student advocacy, and community leadership, while continuing to create practical changes that support students across Deakin. Through my role as Vice President of Education, my Honours research on women’s sexual health, and my involvement in student-led initiatives addressing academic fairness, wellbeing, and the cost-of-living crisis, I have worked to turn my own lived experience into meaningful impact for others. I am proud that this work has been recognised through several awards and honours, which reflect not only my personal achievements, but also my commitment to building a more inclusive, supportive, and student-centred university community.
Victorian Young Volunteer of the Year
This category recognises and celebrates the enthusiasm, initiative and leadership of young people in volunteering. Open to individuals 25 years and younger, nominees will be inspiring young people who have made a remarkable impact through volunteering for people, a community, group, organisation, or cause in Victoria.
Deakin Hallmark: Excellence in Leadership
The Excellence in Leadership Hallmark recognises students who have contributed to communities through sustained and effective leadership. This award recognises the importance of leadership skills to the success of organisations and communities.To apply for the Excellence in Leadership Hallmark students must submit a digital portfolio which includes a written reflection and video pitch that provides compelling evidence of having met the following standards:

Deakin Student Helping Student Award: Experience Category
The Students Helping Students (SHS) awards are a means to formally recognise mentors for their achievements and for their contribution to the University.
The SHS awards are also a learning experience in themselves and encourage reflection by mentors on the capabilities they have developed because of their mentoring. Furthermore, the awards help both students and staff develop an increased understanding of what learning is all about. After all, learning happens everywhere.

DUSA New Club of The Year
DUSA Club Awards acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding efforts by our Clubs to build an engaging, supportive and positive environment for students at Deakin University.
This award celebrates the achievements of a club that has been created in the last 12 months. The award provides recognition for the way in which the club has been established and how it has been able to engage the student community.
Everything we do at Deakin Res is shaped by one word: RESPECT. It’s our set of community values that guide how we live, study and hang out together:
